总览
转化生长因子 (TGF) β2 是 TGF-β 超家族的成员，调节多种细胞表型。与 TGF-β1 和 TGF-β3 类似，TGF-β2 通过 I 型和 II 型丝氨酸-苏氨酸激酶受体发出信号，并通过 SMAD 家族蛋白激活信号转导，从而调节细胞增殖、分化、伤口愈合、凋亡和代谢等多种功能 (de Caestecker; Massague; Zuniga et al.)。TGF-β2 在许多发育过程中发挥重要作用；例如，TGF-β2 缺失的小鼠在心脏、肺、颅面、肢体、眼、耳和泌尿生殖系统的发育中表现出缺陷 (Dunker & Kreiglstein)。
