人白细胞介素 4 (IL-4) 对蠕虫感染的免疫应答以及过敏反应至关重要 (Olpihant et al.)。IL-4受体由IL-4Ra异二聚体和共同γ链组成。IL-4受体的结合导致JAK1/3的激活和STAT6和IRS1/2的募集 (Nelms et al.)。IL-4 驱动 B 细胞免疫球蛋白类别转换(转换为 IgE、IgG4)、肥大细胞增生、黏液产生以及幼稚 T 细胞分化为 Th2 细胞,后者产生 IL-4、IL-5、IL-10 和 IL-13 (Bao et al.; Nelms et al.; Olpihant et al.)。除 Th2 细胞外,CD4+ NK T 细胞、γ/δ T 细胞、活化嗜碱性粒细胞、嗜酸性粒细胞和肥大细胞也产生 IL-4。人 IL-4 不会与小鼠细胞发生交叉反应(Park et al.)。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant IL-4 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of TF-1 cells. Cell proliferation was measured after 72 hours of culture using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is 0.16 - 0.24 ng/mL.
(B) 1 μg of Human Recombinant IL-4 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant IL-4 has a predicted molecular mass of 15.1 kDa.
