骨形态发生蛋白2（BMP-2）是转化生长因子β (TGF-β) 超家族的一员。BMP-2是一种二硫键连接的同型二聚体，作为I型和II型BMP受体复合物的配体，主要激活SMAD1/5/8信号传导（Nohe et al.）。BMP-2是一种强效的分化因子，可引导人多能干细胞（hPSCs）分化为各种细胞类型，包括胚胎外内胚层、间充质细胞和软骨细胞（Pera et al.）。尽管BMP-2在健康软骨中的表达较低，但其在软骨损伤部位的表达上调（Blaney Davidson et al.）。BMP-2在体外诱导骨和软骨形成，并能诱导人间充质干细胞分化成软骨（Schmitt et al.）。本产品不含动物成分。
