巨噬细胞集落刺激因子（M-CSF）是一种同源二聚体细胞因子，属于受体酪氨酸激酶（RTK）家族III类亚型。M-CSF作用于CSF-1受体酪氨酸激酶，启动一系列信号转导级联反应，以支持细胞增殖和分化（Hamilton）。M-CSF由内皮细胞、成骨细胞和妊娠期间的子宫上皮细胞产生（Ryan）。M-CSF与其他因子协同促进多能造血祖细胞增殖和分化，调控单核吞噬细胞前提细胞向单核和巨噬细胞分化。它还支持已分化巨噬细胞的存活、增殖和功能维持，并调节单核吞噬细胞向破骨细胞的分化（Pixley & Stanley）。M-CSF在胚胎着床和早期发育中起重要作用（Makrigiannakis et al.）。

(A) The biological activity of Rat Recombinant M-CSF was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of M-NFS-60 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the above example is less than 2.5 ng/mL. (B) 2 μg of Rat Recombinant M-CSF was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining.
