成纤维细胞生长因子(FGF) 9是FGF家族中一个多效性成员。FGF是肝素依赖性的细胞增殖和分化调节因子(Itoh & Ornitz)。FGF-9通过结合FGFR3(IIIb)以及FGFR1、FGFR2和FGFR3受体的 IIIc 剪接变体来传递信号(Santos-Ocampo等;Mohammadi等;Plotnikov等)。在小鼠中,FGF-9的缺失会导致死亡,FGF-9的表达影响骨骼、小脑、肺、心脏、血管系统、消化道和睾丸的发育(Colvin等;Harada等;Lin等)。据报道,在多种人类癌症中FGF-9水平也会发生变化(Leushacke等;Abdel-Rahman等)。

(A) The biological activity of Human Recombinant FGF-9 was tested by its ability to promote the proliferation of 3T3 cells. Cell proliferation was measured using a fluorometric assay method. The EC50 is defined as the effective concentration of the growth factor at which cell proliferation is at 50% of maximum. The EC50 in the example above is less than 2 ng/mL. (B) 2 μg of Human Recombinant FGF-9 was resolved with SDS-PAGE under reducing (+) and non-reducing (-) conditions and visualized by Coomassie Blue staining. Human Recombinant FGF-9 has a predicted molecular mass of 23.4 kDa.
