MEL-14 抗体可特异性识别小鼠CD62L（L-选择素或LECAM-1），CD62L是一种分子量约为74-95 kDa的I型糖蛋白，在大多数白细胞表面表达。CD62L通过结合CD34、glyCAM-1、MAdCAM-1和PSGL-1等配体，介导白细胞-内皮细胞的相互作用。其作用是促进淋巴细胞在血管内皮的滚动迁移，调控淋巴细胞向淋巴结的归巢，介导淋巴细胞及中性粒细胞向炎症部位的定向迁移。小鼠CD62L在大多数胸腺细胞中表达，在免疫功能正常或分裂中的祖细胞亚群以及中性粒细胞、嗜酸性粒细胞、单核细胞以及B细胞、T细胞和NK细胞亚群中高表达。 MEL-14抗体可与其他细胞表面标志物抗体联合使用，以区分naïveT细胞、记忆T细胞和效应T细胞。MEL-14抗体已被证实能够阻止淋巴细胞向淋巴结迁移，并抑制白细胞滚动黏附过程。
