HCD56抗体识别CD56 （NCAM）反应，CD56 （NCAM）是免疫球蛋白（Ig）超家族的成员，在其细胞外部分含有5个Ig样结构域和两个3型纤连蛋白结构域。CD56已被鉴定出多个亚型，包括跨膜和gpi锚定亚型。CD56受到几种类型的翻译后修饰，包括在第5个Ig样结构域添加多聚糖酸片段。CD56的~140 kDa亚型被认为是人NK细胞的原型细胞表面标志物。约90%的NK细胞低密度表达CD56，而约10%的NK细胞相对高表达CD56。CD56也在外周血NKT亚群、神经元、肌肉细胞、一些干细胞和体外培养的T细胞克隆中呈可变表达。CD56也在几种类型的肿瘤中表达，包括骨髓瘤、神经母细胞瘤和小细胞肺癌细胞。CD56分别通过嗜同性和嗜异性相互作用介导细胞-细胞和细胞-基质的粘附，并参与激活细胞内信号通路。CD56在胚胎和成体的神经元发育中都起到重要作用。

该抗体克隆已被验证可用于评估EasySep™试剂盒（包括EasySep™HLA Buffy Coat CD56正选试剂盒（产品号 #18085HLA）和EasySep™Human CD56正选试剂盒（产品号#18055，可能观察到部分阻断），以及EasySep™HLA CD2正选试剂盒（产品号 #18657HLA）和EasySep™人NK细胞富集试剂盒（产品号 #19055）分选的细胞纯度。
