HI30抗体识别CD45的所有亚型，CD45是一种I型跨膜糖蛋白，在大多数血细胞表面表达，除了成熟红细胞、血小板和浆细胞外（这些细胞类型在分化过程中会丢失CD45表达）。CD45是蛋白酪氨酸磷酸酶家族的一员，在许多免疫调节过程中起作用，包括细胞活化、生长、分化和致癌转化。CD45的大细胞质部分包含两个酪氨酸磷酸酶结构域（其中一个具有酶活性），参与调节细胞内底物（如Src激酶Lck和Fyn）的功能。CD45的几种亚型已经被鉴定出来，其表达根据细胞类型和功能状态而不同。编码胞外RA， RB和RC多肽序列的三个外显子（4,5,6）的选择性剪接产生了多达8个分子量在180 - 240 kDa范围内的异构体。白细胞共同抗原（LCA）是HI30抗体识别的区域，该区域位于胞外的膜近端，是所有CD45亚型共同具备的。
