Animal component-free collagenase/dispase blend with high collagenase and high caseinase activity
Use DisCoZyme 2, Animal Component-Free (ACF) for tissue dissociation in applications where prevention of the introduction of potential animal-derived pathogens is necessary. This collagenase and dispase blend is sourced from clostridium histolyticum and bacillus polymyxa, respectively, and contains a minimum of 250 collagenase units/mg and 2000 caseinase units/mg of dry weight. Digest native collagen fibrils commonly found in connective tissues while the neutral amino-endoprotease, dispase, cleaves the N-terminal peptide bond of non-polar amino acid residues. The mild proteolytic activity of dispase allows it to maintain membrane integrity while isolating and passaging of primary cells. DisCoZyme 2, ACF is designed to contain high levels of collagenase and caseinase activity and has been used for the digestion of lung (Fujino et al.; Driscoll et al.) and neural tissues (Panchision et al.). Use DisCoZyme 1, ACF (Catalog #07449), if lower levels of caseinase activity are desired.
