总览
白介素-8 （IL-8）是趋化因子CXC亚家族的一员，由白细胞（单核细胞、T细胞、中性粒细胞和自然杀伤细胞）和非白细胞体细胞（内皮细胞、成纤维细胞和上皮细胞）产生，最主要的来源是单核细胞和巨噬细胞。它的产生是由炎症刺激，如IL-1诱导的。IL-8，也被称为CXCL8，激活中性粒细胞，诱导趋化、脱粒和呼吸爆发反应(Baggiolini & Clark-Lewis; Mukaida)。IL-8被认为是炎症中最强效的中性粒细胞趋化因子之一，它通过结合白细胞表面的两种 G 蛋白偶联受体——CXCR1 和 CXCR2 发挥作用 Hoffmann et al.; de Oliveira et al.)。在体外实验中，IL-8通过CXCR2介导对人肠道微血管内皮细胞具有促血管生成的功能（Heidemann et al.）。研究发现，IL-8通过促进肿瘤细胞侵袭、血管生成和转移来促进乳腺癌的进展，并与乳腺癌干样细胞的调控有关（Singh et al.）。IL-8在结膜、角膜、虹膜、视网膜和眼框等部位的炎症性疾病中也具有促血管生成的特性（Ghasemi et al.）。在人类新生儿中，T细胞的一项主要效应功能是产生IL-8，有助于激活抗菌中性粒细胞和γ / δ T细胞（Gibbons et al.）。多种人类病原体，如HIV和结核分枝杆菌，已被证实可诱导单核细胞和巨噬细胞分泌IL-8 (Friedland et al.; Meddows-Taylor et al.)。
